TO STORE OR DISPLAY YOUR HATS?

So you've found yourself with a substantial hat collection. Over the years you've collected baseball caps from sporting events, you've purchased fancy designer caps, and then of course the tacky tourist one. Believe it or not I used to have one with a giant pelican on the top, and I wore it. So if you have a treasured collection, at some point you'll have to decide if you're going to display it or pack it away.

One very simple way to get rid of your hats, without getting rid of them, is to display them in your closet. You pound a few nails in your walls and presto you have a way to easily see the hats to wear them, and you have a psudo display. It's a best of both worlds if your wife doesn't let you hang them on display in the hallway. Another compromise might be the den or garage. Sometimes a treasured hats collection can be tolerated in one of these prime areas.

Now to the fun. Let's say you have decorating control of your room the wall is the best place to show off your hat collection. Again, grab the nails and start pounding. There's the around the top of the room look. There is also the use of one wall and several rows of hats all nice and straight in rows. Then you have the chaos option - just pound nails anywhere on the wall and see what type of display you come up with! Nothing like a little chaos to add fun to your life.

Another super crazy idea is to get a couple ropes - run diagonally across your room and hang them on the rope. This is nearly a permanent display because it's going to be tough to get them down on a daily basis, but you'll survive!
